The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science (Al and DS) is established in the year 2021. This is a 4-year degree course approved by AICTE, New Delhi under Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU). The Department is offering undergraduate program with intake of 120. The curriculum of Al and DS is includes Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Data Mining, Statistical Methods, Artificial Intelligence, Big Data Analytic, Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision and more. Al and DS is helpful for students to draw meaningful insights from big data and acquire skill-sets to deal with numerous real time applications in this field. Since last decade, Al and DS witnessed enormous growth and dramatic breakthrough innovations applied in almost every sector. Research within department often explores cutting-edge Al techniques, develops new algorithms, and applies them to various domains. Department Facilitate and encourage students internship and online certified courses like Swayam, NPTEL, IIT offered, Coursera, IBM professional development courses to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in the field of Artificial Intelligence & Data Science. Department maintain strong ties with industry partners, start-ups, and technology companies to foster collaboration, technology transfer, and talent development. Department facilitate internships, co-op programs, industry-sponsored projects for Final Year students, and Placement Drives-Activities to bridge the gap between academia and industry. This specialized course opens many career avenues for aspirants in healthcare, finance, astronomy, agriculture, data security, entertainment, E-commerce, social networking, climatology, biotechnology, genetics, and many more.

The lab enables students to design, develop, and implement intelligent systems through activities like data modeling, deep learning, natural language processing, and computer vision. It provides exposure to real-world applications, helping students build innovative solutions and strengthen analytical, programming, and research skills.

The Software Laboratory is designed to provide practical exposure to programming, software development, and system design concepts. It is equipped with modern computing systems and essential development tools such as C, C++, Java, and Python.

The lab enables students to develop, test, and debug software applications while learning key concepts like data structures, algorithms, database management, and web development. Tools such as Visual Studio Code, Eclipse, and Git are used for coding, collaboration, and version control.

Through hands-on sessions, mini-projects, and real-world problem solving, the lab enhances students’ programming skills, logical thinking, and software engineering practices, preparing them for industry requirements.

The following points were discussed in online parents meet 1. The meeting covered various topics, including student progress, academic performance, and future opportunities provided by the college 2. Co-Curricular Activities: Guest lecture, Seminars and Internship and Industrial Visits are required for students’ academic progress. 3. Certification: Efforts taken by Institute for students skill development like NPTEL/SWAYAM/Coursera and departmental event etc. 4. Placement preparation for students coordinates with TPO. 5. Attendance: A significant number of parents attended the meeting, showcasing their interest in their ward's progress. 6. Students Achievements: Discussed students achievements in placement, Internship and Courses attended. 7. Interaction: Parents actively participated in the discussion, raising queries and concerns, which were addressed by the faculty members.
