The Data Science Laboratory is a specialized computing facility designed to provide students with practical exposure to data analytics, machine learning, statistical modeling, and business intelligence techniques. The laboratory enables students to apply theoretical concepts to real-world datasets and develop data-driven solutions using modern tools and technologies.

The lab is equipped with 25 high-performance desktop computers, each powered by an Intel Core i5 processor, providing the computational capability required for data analysis, visualization, and machine learning applications. The laboratory environment supports hands-on learning through practical sessions, projects, workshops, and research activities in the field of Data Science.

Industrial Visit to the Maratha Entrepreneur Expo 2026 The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (Data Science) successfully organized and executed an industrial visit to the Maratha Entrepreneur Expo 2026 for our students. The visit took place on 28th February 2026 at the Agricultural Grounds, Shivajinagar, Pune. The expo provided a dynamic platform for students to observe a wide spectrum of technical exhibits, innovative startups, and established business ventures. This exposure was instrumental in bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical industry applications. The visit was particularly relevant to the curriculum, complementing studies in Entrepreneurship Development, Technology Commercialization, Startup, and Environmental Studies (EVS). The visit was conducted under the invaluable guidance of our respected Head of Department, Dr. A. B. Manwatkar, and was efficiently coordinated by Dr. Sudnya A. V. We also extend our sincere gratitude to our esteemed Director, Dr. Jayawant B. Sankpal, I/c Principal, Dr. Pooja Sharma, and the Management for their unwavering support and encouragement in facilitating such enriching academic activities. Department of CSE(DS) is proud to announce that our students participated in the , “Navonmesh 24 Hours National Level Hackathon 2026”, Kothrud, and successfully advanced to the second round of the competition. Competing under the team name *“Debug Squad”, the event was conducted on 27th and 28th February 2026 , where the students showcased exceptional innovation, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities. During the 24-hour intensive hackathon, the team worked collaboratively to develop practical and innovative solutions addressing real-world challenges. The team was mentored by “Ms. Tanuja Phirke” whose continuous guidance, technical expertise, and encouragement significantly contributed to their performance. The students also received valuable leadership and motivation from the respected Head of the Department Dr. A. B. Manwatkar , Mr. D.V. Kudande, Dr. S.A. Vanakudre, Ms. Sanika Kolhe & Ms. S.R.
